30 Days of Domei
A daily plant practice of noticing, rooted in the living world

You don’t need more information.
You need presence.
In a world that moves too fast, where the noise never stops and everything demands your attention,
What if five minutes a day could bring you back to what matters?
What is Domei?
Domei is not a belief system, a philosophy, or a spiritual identity.
It’s a quiet, sensory-based way of meeting the living world.
Each day for 30 days, you’ll receive a short, simple plant-based practice by email.
You’ll be invited to step outside.
To notice.
To slow your breath.
To sit beside a plant.
To remember how to belong.
No pressure. No jargon.
Just you, the land, and a few quiet minutes to listen.
Who is it for?
You don’t need to be a forager.
Or a botanist.
Or someone who knows the names of wild things.
You just need to feel the pull.
That ache for something more rooted.
More real.
This is for anyone who feels the world has become too fast, too loud, and too disconnected.
For anyone longing for stillness, for presence, for relationship.
What you’ll experience
- A sense of calm, even on difficult days
- A way to reawaken your sensory connection to the land
- A gentle daily rhythm that brings you back to yourself
- A rekindled relationship with plants, not as objects, but as kin
- Practices grounded in Western contemplative traditions
Each lesson takes five minutes.
But its effects last much longer.
What people are saying
‘Grounding, awe-inspiring, and beautifully simple. Domei felt like one long, gentle exhale, reminding me each day of my deep connection with the land and how close that reconnection truly is. It brought slowness, inclusivity, and a profound sense of belonging. Thank you.’ – Harriet Ayliffe
‘Domei has kept me grounded and uplifted when depression lurked at the edges. It’s brought me back to myself, and to the beauty and intelligence of the living world. I’m so grateful.’ – Rosie Johnson
‘I just wanted to say that these daily emails are amazing. Actually, revolutionary, I would say, in terms of reconnecting to our wild selves. Your emails are gentle yet powerful prods in the direction of rediscovering our place in nature. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom.’ – Hazel M.
‘The practice given each day felt like a loving invitation to take time, to pause, to connect more intimately with myself and with the natural world. Beautiful practices, many thanks.’ – Kshantika Jo Coates

About Robin Harford

I’m a British forager and founder of Eatweeds, a leading online resource on wild plants and foraging. I began teaching in 2008.
My work weaves together contemplative ecology and wild wellbeing.
Grounded in the idea that true nourishment comes not just from eating plants or using them as medicine, but from being fully present with them.
I focus on slowing down; on learning to notice, to listen, and to build relationship with the more-than-human world.
Over the years, I’ve travelled across Africa, India, Southeast Asia, Europe and the USA, documenting traditional uses of wild food plants in local and Indigenous cultures.
